By car:
Motorway A3 Napoli-Salerno, exit Torre del Greco or Herculaneum (Ercolano).
From Herculaneum:
At the tollbooth, turn left, take Via Boscocatene, go straight until the crossroads of Via B. Cozzolino, go straight, after about 2 km you reach a junction, go straight following the sign Vesuvius, after about 300m on the right you will arrive at the Info Point of the Vesuvius National Park. Continuing for about 7 km you reach a junction, turn left, after about 2 km you reach the square of the altitude of 1000 where is located the access path to the crater which is accessible only on foot.
From Torre del Greco:
At the tollbooth of Torre del Greco, over the roundabout and continue straight for about 300 meters, turn left and continue for about 100 meters then turn right and drive another 100 meters, then turn left until the crossing; turn right onto Via E. De Nicola and continue for about 1.5 km; at the junction turn right, after about 300m, on the right you will arrive at the Info Point of the Vesuvius National Park. Continue for about 7 km you reach a junction, turn left, after about 2 km you reach the square in altitude of 1000.

By train or bus:
For those arriving by plane from the airport of Capodichino take the bus to Piazza Garibaldi Central Station. Even if you arrive with FS trains should get off at the Central Station in Piazza Garibaldi. From Central Station take the Circumvesuviana towards Sorrento or Poggiomarino Via Pompei (click here for times and prices sites www.eavsrl.it , and reach the ruins of Herculaneum station. Even if coming from Sorrento and Pompeii can be reached Ercolano on the Sorrento and Naples Pompei Naples. in the square outside the Ercolano station operates a bus service, and taxis that lead to quota 1000.
from Pompeii: bus Square Amphitheater and Porta Marina (circumvesuviana station), the journey takes about 55 minutes. (time pdf >> )
